Thurstan Crockett is Co-Founder and Lead Facilitator at Defining Moments. He brings a depth of experience in group facilitation, nature-based practice, and reflective inquiry, with a particular gift for creating spaces where people feel met, listened to, and gently challenged to step into greater truth and responsibility.
For many years, Thurstan has worked with individuals and groups exploring life transitions, identity, and belonging. His facilitation is grounded in careful attention, emotional literacy, and a strong respect for the pace and readiness of each person. He is known for his ability to hold steady, compassionate presence, allowing difficult or tender material to emerge without force, while supporting participants to remain connected to themselves and the wider group.
Thurstan’s work is deeply informed by time spent in wild and liminal spaces. Nature is not a backdrop to his facilitation, but an active participant, offering rhythm, metaphor, and guidance. At Defining Moments, he plays a central role in shaping the experiential and ceremonial aspects of the work, helping to ensure that retreats are both grounded and meaningful, and that participants leave with insights that can be lived, not just understood.
Together with Anthony, Thurstan co-founded Defining Moments in response to a shared recognition that modern life lacks clear, held thresholds for change. His work is guided by a commitment to integrity, relational depth, and the quiet power of well-held moments to change the course of a life.
